Donate

Richmond Grows is 100% supported by tax-deductible donations and volunteers. Donations help us to provide free seeds and education on seed saving and organic gardening to our community.

Volunteer

There are lots of ways to get involved in Richmond Grows. Here are just a few:
1.  Promote the library: let your friends and community know about upcoming orientations and events and join us on Facebook. If you have particular ideas about how to reach out to the community, help us out. We want to make this resource available to all. Join on Twitter @RichmondGrows.
2.  Join us for a work party:   We have monthly work parties from February-October to maintain the library and community seed garden. Dates are on our homepage.
3. Create a Seed Library display: create a seed library display in the glass case in the Richmond Public Library promoting the seed lending library and educating people about gardening and seed saving; the library display case is on the right when you first enter the building.
4.  Translate material into other languages: our brochures and orientation materials are translated into Spanish. From time to time, we have short flyers and other resources that need translation into Spanish. If you are fluent in another language, we'd love to make our material available to a broader spectrum of the population. Laotian and Mien are two languages that are a priority.
5. Write grants: we are run solely by volunteers and donations. It would be great to have some funds to continue to expand our outreach and educational objectives.
6.  Donate:  besides cash donations, we need masking tape, pencils and envelopes. Feel free to just place these in the Edibles cabinet or in the Supplies drawer. If you would like a tax-deductible receipt for your donations, please contact us.

If you have an idea on how to improve the library, let us know. This project is a community effort and your involvement and suggestions are very much appreciated.
